This very odd-looking church, a good example of Florentine Gothic, was built in 1337. |
| In 1380 it was transformed into a church (the lower loggia was walled in), with the two upper storeys being used as emergency grain stores. Each of the guilds responsible for governing the city was given the task of decorating one of the exterior tabernacles. The interior is dominated by the gothic tabernacle of glass and marble by Orcagna, which frames a Madonna by Daddi. |
