The Tenuta Gaetano Spadaro, immersed in the green of the Lucca hills and surrounded by olive groves and woods, offers accommodation in a number of comfortable apartments housed in renovated farm buildings.
The farm is in a tranquil setting with views reaching to Montecarlo and Montecatini Alto as well as the surrounding plain and hills of Lucca. A very well known Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced here, and the apartments on the farm are named after varieties of olive. There is a swimming pool for the use of guests and the surrounding woods are great for walking - there is also a small lake where you may fish.
The farm also has an elegant restaurant where guests may enjoy traditional and excellent Tuscan cooking.
The Tenuta Gaetano Spadaro, owned by the Spadaro family since 1959, started out producing white and red wine and olive oil. Some years ago the farm was radically transformed. The lands surrounding the farm were prepared for planting new olive trees in order to step up the production of extra virgin olive oil. Converting the farm to organic was another major shift. The taste of the oil produced by the Gaetano Spadaro farm is unique – given its intense and peculiar aroma by a happy combination of frantoio, leccino, maurino, moraiolo and pendolino varieties.
The farm is now under the stewardship of Gaetano Spadaro, who has recently replaced his passion for car rallies with oil grower certificates and diplomas. Roman by birth but long resident in Lucca, Gaetano Spadaro has exchanged the race track for the quiet of the countryside and the mild but intense colours of the Tuscan hills.
This farmhouse holiday accommodation is located in Gragnano, 12 kilometres from Lucca and 25 kilometres away from Viareggio.
