San Giuliano Terme is a small spa town on the road from
Pisa to Lucca - the sulphurous springs can often be smelt from the main
road. The central tree-lined street has some pleasant bars. Should you
care to take the waters (or the steam, or the mud) then the town's two
spas open in February.
