The villa is located 17 kilometres south of Pisa and stands in a 6000 square metre private park, full of ancient pines and cypresses. It is in a 'posto tranquillo' - a tranquil and peaceful spot, with fine panoramic views, yet the nearest village is just a couple of kilometres away by road.

Villa Farnia makes an excellent base for visiting the 'cities of art' - Florence, Siena, Lucca, San Gimignano, Pisa, etc., for making forays into the countryside of Tuscany and for visiting the coast - just twenty minutes by car. There are numerous guidebooks and maps for use of the guests, and the resident (English-speaking) couple are happy to help and make recommendations on where to go and what to see (and eat!).

There is a delightfully located pool for the use of guests as well as a smaller pool and various play areas for children.

The apartments have been restored with care, and still feature their original terracotta floors and exposed beamed ceilings. Furnishings are traditionally simple, with rustic and antique furniture. Each apartment consists of a double bedroom, a living room with double sofa-bed, an area for cooking and a bathroom with bath or shower. On the ground floor of the villa is a salon with television, hi-fi and library for use of guests. There are four independent apartments, each with two rooms and separate services; these may be rented individually or as a whole, with a maximum sleeping capacity of twelve people.

The rental prices vary according to season, apartment and number of people and include bed linen, gas, electricity and a final cleaning, plus use of washing-machine. Central heating will be paid for according to consumption.
