
La Montecchia, in the hands of the family of Count Emo Capodilista since the 11th century, lies 15 km to the southwest of the mediaeval city of Padua (Padova), within easy reach of the famous attractions of the Veneto and northern Italy Venice, Verona and Lake Garda are all less than an hour away.

The setting is tranquil and beautiful, surrounded by the vineyards of this prestigious wine-making estate. This is a perfect spot for a golfing holiday with the Montecchia Golf Course two minutes' away our guests get a substantial reduction on green fees and can make use of the swimming pool. There is an excellent restaurant and a bar, and there are two more courses within a 10 minute drive.

A couple of steps and a wrought iron gate lead into the garden of the Casa del Prete once the home of the castle priest. The hall, a spacious, comfortable sitting room, the kitchen, the dining room and a bathroom (with tub) are on the ground floor, with light pouring in through the windows from both sides of the house. A stairway leads up to two bedrooms on the first floor, one with an en suite bathroom with shower.
The garden is planted with olive trees and blossoming oleander bushes. A large table stands in the shade of a lime tree, and comfortable reclining chairs furnish a corner of the garden. The house is equipped with a dishwasher but not an oven, a washing machine with dryer, and central heating. The sofa in the living room can be turned into an extra bed at the rate of €25 per night.
