Casa Astarita - Bed and Breakfast in Sorrento, Italy

Casa Astarita is situated in the heart of Sorrento [view a map of our location], an ancient settlement originally founded by the Greeks almost 2,500 years ago. Over the intervening years the town has had an interesting history; sitting to the south of the Bay of Naples it was a favourite summertime retreat of the Roman nobility, and then became a Byzantine holding after the fall of the Roman Empire. During the middle ages it belonged to the King of Naples until it passed to the Spanish at the start of the 16th century.

The town is perched upon the cliffs on the southern edge of the Bay of Naples, and the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida are clearly visible. From here it is only a short journey to the ancient sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, and smoking in the distance, the volcano Vesuvius towers above Naples.

The bed and breakfast is in the 18th century family villa of the Astarita family. The family have been providing hospitality to travelers for generations and you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome. The rooms are a synergistic blend of the traditional with the modern - a blend that will leave you relaxed, refreshed and ready to make the most of your holiday. There are six rooms available in Casa Astarita, these are described on the next page.
