Italian rentals - Emilia-Romagna - Bed and breakfast vacation apartments on a holiday farm close to Rimini.
The house is hundreds of years old. The foundations date back to the mediaeval days and can still be viewed down in the basement and wine cellars. Towards the end of 18th century, Palazzo Astolfi (once called Palazzo Giliendi) was restored and converted into the Bishop’s country residence - the original coats of arms of the archbishops bear testimony to their ownership.
Today, the façade gives evidence of the palace’s 17th century days, particularly the walls looking out onto the park, and the courtyard with its old well. Inside there are a number of magnificent, banqueting and dining rooms, these large rooms still adorned with ceiling frescoes. The kitchen is rustic with marvellous exposed wooden beams and boasts a traditional old oven once used to make bread.
During the 19th century the cellar was used to make extra virgin olive oil for the entire valley. Some of the old millstones used to press the olives can be seen in the cellar.

The villa enjoys a superb position. It has spectacular views of the Adriatic coastline, from Rimini right through to Ravenna, as well as of the surrounding undulating valleys below, including Montefeltro.
All the dining rooms are furnished with authentic period pieces creating an atmosphere of warmth, charm and elegance and comfortably accommodating more than 300 guests. During summer, the surrounding gardens are a magnificent setting for any outdoor function. There is also a children's park with swings and games, and there is ample parking for quests. For short stays the price is EURO €100 in double room per night, breakfast included.
The Palace is located on an azienda agricola (farm) amidst more than 50 acres of agricultural land, including the vineyards which produce premium quality DOC wine. Superb extra virgin olive oil is cold pressed from the olives grown on the property.
