Ciao everyone! I am trying to get as much information as possible on the town Valva. My mothers father, my grandfather...Vincent Valva, grew up in Brooklyn but his Grandfather (also Vincenzo Valva) was from Teggiano Italy at Valva. I'm looking into the possibilities of spending some time living in Italy and would also like to find out more infomation on the history of my family for my grandfather and myself. I'd love to communicate with someone from Valva, Italy or people who think they can be of assistance. Please feel free to email me. I know Valva now is probably more of a historical town and one may know the "Villa d'Ayala of Valva." I look forward to hearing from anyone. My best! :-D

I'm looking for any living relatives in Acerra, Italy of my grandfather Anthony Vincent (Antonio Vincenzo) Cozzolino. I'm hoping to send my mother to Naples sometime in 2006, and am hoping to find some relatives for her to meet, while in Italy. My grandfather was born in Acerra in 1921. He moved to the U.S. at a very young age (I believe about 5 years old) with his parents, who settled in Saginaw, Michigan. He passed away in 2003, but is survived by his wife Janice and 10 children and countless grandchildren and great grandchildren. I know we'd all like to find our long lost family in Acerra. If you have any information, please contact me at my wife's e-mail address morgankittie@sbcglobal.net.

I am going to visit the village of Patrica in Italy where my fathers family came from. (Rinaldi, Simoni) I also want to visit Supino at the base of Partica so that I can try to find the family of the boarder that lived in our house when I was a child. The last name is Ersi and he had two daughters. They in turn, had sons and I think one of the husbands was a teacher there. One of the sons played the organ and piano very well. They lived by the bus stop in the square. If anyone could help me, I sure would appreciate it. Thank you, Ciao, Kathleen

Any body knows this person, who should be in his late 60s or early 70s, please be kind to inform me about him and/or his were abouts so as to make contact with him....Thanks

I had the opportunity to spend some time in Lucca this past summer. What a beautiful area. The people of Tuscany have always been so warm and friendly to visitors. The food, the wine, the history. A remarkable town. Definitely worth repeating.

I am searching for possible cousins or possible aunt or uncle. My grandfather's name was paul alessi, he had 2 brothers in milan by the names of Frank and Vincent-he also had another brother and sister somewhere in italy. He was born in the late 1800's and migrated to buffalo new york. His childrens names at the time was James, Anthony, Frank, Liboria, Louis, Rose and Josephine. Ihave done some research and found the family in a census of 1930-no trace of what happened to them, no addresses-like they disappeared from the face of the earth. If anyone has any information, i would appreciate if the individual would email me. Thank you ALESSI FAMILY

Re the post below ...

Thanks for your kind words about our site. We go to great pains to point out that we are not acting as an agent or middleman in any way - all enquiries are sent directly to the property/establishment concerned, and it is they, not us, who will respond to your enquiry.

If they have chosen not to display their prices - we do try to suggest that they do so, but ... - then you'll need to fill out the enquiry form for the relevant properties, and they'll get back to you with details.

Regards, Mat

This is absolutely, without a doubt, THE best website for information on Tuscany that I have found anywhere! I only wish I had found your site before I spent all that money on guidebooks and their cookie-cutter hotels! The site is extremely informative and most importantly it is VERY well organized - each page has the same format so I know where to look for more information, etc. I will recommend your site to everyone I know who is planning a trip to Tuscany!

I will be visiting Tuscany in May 2001 staying near Lucca. My grandparents came to the USA in 1910 from Pievepelago. My grandfather was Pietro Lenzini. I have been once to his home there but don't know if I can find it again. It was near Fiumalbo. I understand there is a small monument to a coal mine explosion in the US where my grandfather and many fellow country men died. Does anyone know where that monument might be?

Ciaco,
Your website is most interesting and educational and enriching. I would like to have your assistance in finding a few real estates to assist me in locating a retirement home. An angent quoted me between $35,000 and $45,000 to purchase a retirement home. However, I misplaced the area and the name of the company.
I was also told that that a gardner is available for $2.00 a
day and the same for a maid. It all sounds too good to be true but not too good to inquire about.
Please let me know if you are aware of any real estate agents that sell property. I believe that some of the property is near Tuscany or perhaps Provence. I am during my research and would like to obtain as much information as soon as possible.
Hopefully, I will hear from you as soon as time permits.

Ciao! Ciao a presto - Ilona -

Well Matt, you have a beautiful site here! I have one of my own at www.hostetler.net/italy.htm that list Italian holidays. We're two lucky guys to live in this beautiful country, aren't we? (even though Lucca is a thousand times more beautiful than Milan!).
