Montecarlo (17K East of Lucca)

The small hilltop town of Montecarlo is the centre of a well known wine producing area. The well preserved town centre, surrounded by fine walls and topped by the fortress, Rocca del Cerruglio, gives panoramic views of the vines and plains below. Montecarlo, with its bell tower of the collegiate church, is visible for miles all around.

Pescia

Pescia is a busy small market town that is Italy's biggest producer of cut flowers;an impressive flower show is held every two years. The area around Pescia is rich in villas, gardens and natural beauty and the town makes a convenient base for exploring the area.
