TRANSPORT:
  ANM buses are reliable though slow and busy. Metropolitana underground service. Three funiculars run up the hill of the Vomero. Taxis can be slow and charging uncertain, ensure the meter is on when you start your ride. Driving in Naples is only for the brave; walking is by far the best way to get around.

CUISINE & WHERE TO EAT:
  Naples is the home of pizza, sold on the streets along with a dazzling array of other goodies. Calzone (stuffed pizza), potato croquettes, rich balls and courgette flowers in batter are just some of the street fare. Meat plays a much smaller part, with seafood and vegetables king, and clams, squid and octopus feature large on menus. Neopolitans are very good at pastries. Good white wines such as Biancolella and Greco di Tufo, or Taurasi red. Eat in the Mergellina district (quayside), but Naples is full of good, traditional and cheap restaurants.
