Feste and celebrations in Veneto region
As ever, this can only be a partial list as seemingly every hamlet in Italy has its festivals, feste, pageant or religious celebration. These are some of the standouts, in no particular order. As ever, check dates!
Belluno has its Easter games; Feltre its historic horse race each August; Marostica its human chess game each September; Lamon the September bean festival; Sappada its February carnival; Trichiana the traditional Brusa la Vecia bonfire every March; Battaglia Terme the Remada a Seconda pageant play in May; Este its Palio and races in September; September sees the Colli Euganei DOC wine festival; Montagnana has an historical parade and horse race in September; Badia Polesine its kite competition in April; Caorle the marking of the Rape of the Damsels in September; Bassano del Grappa the asparagus festival in late spring; the Venice Carnival is in February; Verona has its Bacanal del Gnoco parade and masque ball in February; Valdobbiadene the National Spumante Festival in September; Rosolina the August Festival of San Rocco; Treviso the Rogo della Vecia Bonfire and Festival in March; Bibione the International Folklore Festival in August and a living nativity at Christmas.
