Michelangelo’s David – custody battle?
The article linked to below would have it that some bored Roman lawyers, hand in hand with Berlusconi’s government, have been digging around to find grounds to make a claim for State (as opposed to Florentine) ownership of Michelangelo’s statue of David.
The mayor of Florence disagrees.
Merits of claim aside, the notion that there are any lawyers working in Rome, in August, is possibly the most flawed aspect of the whole affair.
