There is an enormous amount to see just steps from the hotel's front door. The Piazza di Spagna is an elongated square centering on the boat-shaped Barcaccia fountain. This marks the great flood of Christmas Day 1598 when a barge from the Tiber was beached here by high water! And lovers of the Romantic poets must visit the Keats-Shelley Memorial House, a fascinating English language museum to Shelley, Mary Shelley, Byron and their circle.
Some of Rome's most romantic landmarks are right here. The Spanish Steps sweep gloriously down, overlooked by the church of Trinita dei Monti. Nearby gushes the Trevi Fountain. Rome is awash with fountains of course, but this Baroque confection was made famous worldwide when Anita Ekberg threw herself into the Trevi in La Dolce Vita, a movie which named an age and a very Roman spirit of life.

Travel to, from and around the hotel is no problem. The area is home to the main Rome rail terminal, and you will have a car-parking place next to the building. The hotel is easy for guests to reach from the airport too. Take the shuttle service from Fiumicino Airport direct to the hotel. You'll find the Hotel Reservation desk in the Arrival's terminal at the airport, and tickets cost €12 per person. A taxi will cost you around €50, or ask about the hotel's own pick-up service - €50 for a maximum four people. There is a train direct from the airport, with tickets around €15. And once in Rome, you'll find good buses and metro trains will quickly take you around the city.
