Italian Bed and Breakfast / apartments: relax in an oasis of silence, peace and privacy at this holiday farm on a hill above Lake Martignano. Set within the Regional Natural Park of Lakes Bracciano and Martignano, the farm lies just 25km from Rome.
With beautiful panoramic views set in an unspoiled natural landscape, the farm covers 18 hectares, ranging from a volcanic crater to the lake shore, with fruit orchards, kiwis, vegetables, cereals and beehives. Around the farm you'll see a marvellous selection of birds and wild animals. There is a supervised, private beach on the lake for customers - great for swimming or taking the sun. All adds up to a truly special vacation in Lazio.
This holiday accommodation is peaceful and quiet, bathed in the tranquility of the forest, and there are seven rooms spread over two buildings. All are doubles with private bathrooms (some with hydromassage tubs). These bed and breakfast rooms each have a comfortable sofa, desk and a minibar, three also have cooking facilities. All have a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, with rustic furnishing and beds of wrought iron. The walls are lightly tinted in warm tones and the rooms are light and airy. The buildings are surrounded by well-kept gardens, where children can play and you can top up your tan or read in the shade of an old oak tree.
A double room with breakfast is €60 per night, a single room with breakfast is €50. A third bed costs an additional €20, and for a room with kitchenette add a further €20 per day.
Pets are allowed but must be kept under the direct supervision of the owner.
Dining within the restaurant, the evening menu ranges from
€23 to 28 per person, excluding drinks. A buffet breakfast for a minimum
10 people is available at €10 per head.
For short stays, prices range from €70 to €80 in double room,
breakfast included.
The restaurant has been carefully restored from a rustic farm building of stone and chestnut; it sits on a small hill, and enjoys excellent views of the lake from the large pergola. It offers simple but perfectly prepared local dishes using home produce and traditional flavours. One section of the restaurant is dedicated to tasting local specialities. And with its shelter of bamboo, the pergola offers dining with a view whatever the weather, including barbecues in spring and autumn.
The garden area, heady with the aroma of the surrounding herbs and flowers, is well tended, and separated from the cultivated areas by a wooden fence. The descent to the lake, pretty but also well tended, leads down to the private beach.
Activities on the farm tie in with the natural surroundings - including watersports on the lake and walks. You can take trips to the numerous nearby archaeological sites, play golf and enjoy the other sporting facilities. And of course there is Rome.

See the romantic Piazza Navona with the Fountain of the Four Rivers, the Piazza di Spagna and the sweeping Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain. And there is the Vatican City, the world's greatest collection of galleries in the Vatican Museums, and the splendid Basilica of St Peter's and St Peter's Square.
