A bus service to all destinations runs from the entrance to the farm. Take a trip into nearby Tivoli. Perched high on a hill and with views over the plain, the city has since Classical times been a holiday retreat for wealthy Romans. During the Renaissance they built their grand villas here, and there is still much to see. Check out the Villa Gregoriana - a park with waterfalls created when Pope Gregory XVI diverted the river to ease flooding of the city in 1831.
And of course there are trips into Rome. The Vatican museums house the world's greatest and most diverse collection of art and sculpture. St Peter's Square with the Basilica di San Pietro itself is a magnet for tourists. There is Classical Rome with its Forum, Colosseum and Pantheon. There is the Piazza Navona, the most beautiful square in the capital, and you must see the Capitoline Museums, home to some of Rome's best ancient art and sculpture. Renaissance buildings cluster around the historic centre between the Via del Corso and the River Tiber. And there are the Spanish Steps, the Piazza del Spagna and the Trevi Fountain.
Back to your relaxing Lazio country retreat and you can laze by the swimming pool, go horse riding, take a mountain bike into the hills, or simply enjoy the view. And just 5km from the house is the lovely Lucretili Mountains Regional Park.
