The setting is idyllic. Nineteenth century farm buildings sit, beautifully maintained, at the end of a tree-lined approach, amid well-kept gardens, awash with the scent of lavender and rosemary, and cooled by the splashing of spring water fountains.
And if Casale San Nicola radiates peace it also delivers comfort and convenience. You can choose from eight rooms and two apartments - all heated and sleeping 20 in total. Within the cool, pine-shaded, and elegantly furnished rooms, you can sit and plan your trips into Rome.
Visit the restaurant (or dine outside) and enjoy the simple, traditional cooking of the farmhouse. Dine on hand-made tortellini alla Bolognese, tagliatelle with ragł, or crescentine, all enjoyed with an excellent home-produced wine. This is a working biological farm too, and you can buy marmalade made from the orangery, olive oil from the first cold pressing, dry Albana wine, and produce from the vegetable garden.

There are spacious reception rooms where you can take coffee. These, and the generous parking facilities, make San Nicola ideal for meetings too. Relax in the farm's swimming pool, or hire a bike and explore the countryside. Nearby, explore the stunning mediaeval castle of Bracciano, and its lake, fed by mineral springs. Visit the extraordinary necropolis of the Cerverteri, with its ancient burial mounds and tumuli. Explore the beautiful mediaeval city of Viterbo - famed for its thermal springs.

Visit the coast at Fregene, Palidoro, or Passoscuro. And of course there is Rome itself. The Eternal city, home to St Peter's, The Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and much more, is just a short drive away.
