Self catering rentals in Rome

A big apartment in the centre of Rome, and on a small, lovely and ancient square. This self-catering rental in Rome lies in one of the most historic areas of the city.

Look out onto the square and you see a lovely fountain restored by Bernini, one of the greatest sculptors and architects of the seventeenth century; you may recognise this location from any of a dozen movies.

The apartment is located within the palace of one of the oldest families in Lazio, and dates back to 1600. The apartment can accommodate 7+2, but is probably most comfortable for a maximum of 6 people. The apartment has an elevator, and two small balconies overlooking the rooftops of Rome.

Set over two floors, the flat has three separate mezzanine areas. The first is reached by 11 stairs up from the living room. Here you will find a single bedroom with a balcony, and a bathroom with shower. Two separate staircases lead up from the main hallway to the other two mezzanine areas, one with a double bedroom and bathroom with shower, the other with a double bedroom and a balcony with rooftop views.

This accommodation is not very suitable for tall guests as all the mezzanine areas have six-foot ceilings! This charming apartment is perfect for a family with teenagers or young children, and is elegantly furnished and fully equipped with all comforts.

The front door opens onto the living/dining room, furnished with great quality and care. In one corner is a lovely semi-open-plan kitchen, complete with dishwasher and washing machine. A hallway leads to the double bedroom on the main floor, and its adjacent bathroom with tub and shower. There is a sofa bed in the living room (the +2 of the sleeping accommodation).

This area is well served for public transport, whether by bus, tram, train or taxi, and these self-catering rentals in Rome are superbly placed for sightseeing in the city. It is near the River Tiber, Tiberina Island, and the Teatro di Marcello, and is a five-minute walk to the Campo de' Fiori. This open-air market is open in the mornings, ideal for picking up flowers, vegetables and spices.

You can stroll to the Campidoglio, Imperial Forum, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, or across the river to enchanting Trastevere, famous for its narrow streets and cosy restaurants. Restaurants and wine bars are within easy reach of this comfortable apartment too. In fact you’re ideally situated for exploring Rome.
