Explore the magic of the Eternal City from this Rome apartment rental in the very heart of town. Apartment Trevetto has a spectacular setting … on the Trevi Fountain Square itself. The one-bedroom flat sleeps four and has one bathroom.
This is a wonderful base for exploring Ancient Rome on foot. From here you can easily make your way to the Forum, the Campo de’Fiori, the Pantheon or the Spanish Steps. There is a Metro station at the Spanish Steps (three minutes away). From there you will speed to the Vatican or the central train station ... and make connections to anywhere in Rome.
[ local map | map of region ]This area is right in the centre of things. Here you’ll find elegant shopping, lovely little coffee bars, ice cream (gelato) shops, internet cafes, restaurants and designer stores. And it’s an easy walk to the vast Borghese Gardens. This area is an ideal point to start your walks around the city.

Although the area is crowded and bustling, the quadruple glazing on the windows makes this Rome apartment rental surprisingly quiet. The flat lies on the second floor of an 18th century building (there’s no lift, but the walk up is an easy one), and it can sleep up to four guests.
The 12ft high ceilings, the soft hues of the walls and the hardwood floors make the apartment light, fresh and welcoming, and all has recently been renovated. The main room is the sitting room, which has a double sofa bed, dining table and buffet. There is a kitchen corner with a washing machine, sink, two-ring hob and microwave. There is a small refrigerator but no freezer. Next door is the queen-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom. This has a bidet, toilet, washbasin and shower.
And once you head out into Rome, there is so much to explore. You could spend a dozen holidays in the Eternal City and not cover everything, but there are some essentials. The Pantheon is the most complete remnant of ancient Rome, with the ruined Colosseum probably the most recognisable to the visitor. The Forum, meanwhile, was at the centre of ancient Rome, and so was the hub of the Mediterranean world.
The Vatican Museums house the largest and most comprehensive collection of art and sculpture on Earth. There are galleries dedicated to maps, tapestries, candelabra; there are the series of rooms decorated by Raphael; there are the Borgia Apartments, the Sistine Chapel, museums of classical sculpture, early Christian sarcophagi ... the quantity and diversity is bewildering, so take a good guide book and plan your route.
Many Romans would argue that the Piazza Navona is the most beautiful square in the capital, but again the diversity of architecture is breathtaking. There are the Renaissance buildings clustered around the centro storico between the Via del Corso and the River Tiber. There is the old working class district of Trastevere, with fine bars and trattorias. There is the romantic Rome of the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, the Rome of La Dolce Vita. And there are a hundred superb churches, galleries and museums to explore.
