Agriturismos offer a fantastic opportunity to holiday on a working Italian farm, and to sample the fresh produce. Arlena consists of kiwi, plum and olive orchards around a 150 year-old stone farmhouseand its attached rural buildings.
This complex has been remodelled into eight one, two and three-room apartments, able to accommodate anywhere up to seven people in comfort, and with a large grassy area in front for relaxing and playing. Each apartment has a well-equipped mini-kitchen and dining area, a beautifully set up bathroom with shower and hairdryer, and a porch roofed by open chestnut beams and terracotta tiles. Tables and chairs are provided here for outdoor dining, and there is a barbecue and wood-burning pizza oven for your use.

The carefully chosen furnishings, the warmly coloured and welcoming fabrics, the antique furniture and elegant wrought iron fittings combine to make the farm a marvellous combination of traditional country style and modern luxury. Homemade jams of kiwi, plum, fig, raspberry and kumquat will sweeten your stay, and there is local fruit, oil and wine on sale.
The two-person studio apartments have a double bed, mini-kitchen and dining area and bathroom. The four-person apartments, meanwhile, are over two rooms, with a bedroom with double bed, living area with two single beds and mini-kitchen and bathroom. And there is a six-person apartment, laid out over three rooms, with one double bedroom, one twin room, and a living room with two single beds. This apartment also has a mini-kitchen and two bathrooms. All the apartments have porches with panoramic views. Additional cots and cribs are available for every apartment upon request.
The generous porches provide a beautiful view of the lake, and are the perfect spot for outdoor dining and relaxing. The surrounding fields, reaching to the edge of the lake, are covered mostly by kiwi fruit plantations. Here, a 150-metre path cuts through the orchard and leads you directly to the quiet of the lake. You are welcomed by a stretch of lawn and beach equipped for bathing, with your privacy assured by the thick surrounding reeds. The sandy shore slopes gently into the lake, providing shallow bathing, ideal for even the smallest children.
A beautiful alder tree sinks its roots directly into the shore and acts as a frame for this idyllic corner of the lake. Canoe outings among the reeds allow you to observe the many species of wildfowl found on the lake, while sun worshippers can lie on the beach, or on one of the floating beds. The staff will organise informal meals for you here. The guests can also enjoy the restaurant in the adjastent casale, dating back to the 1800's; please note that this service is only available to farmhouse guests.
