The farmhouse sits on one of the Maremma’s rolling hills, a few miles from the sea between the towns of Tuscania and Tarquinia, as well as Montalto di Castro. The first floor has been completely remodelled for bed & breakfast accommodation, or for rent the whole apartment, with two bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, plus a living room with kitchen corner. One bedroom has twin beds, one is a double (though is can accommodate three if needed. The rooms are provided with independent heating/air conditioning. Depending on the season, prices go from a minimum of €25 to a maximum of €30 per person per day for bed and breakfast and from €500 to €750 for the apartment.
In the area outside the house there are tables, chairs, barbecue, comfortable deck chairs and bicycles at total disposal of guests. From May 2007 there will be a 15-metre swimming pool. Your hosts speak English. There is no public transport to Podere Giuliano, so you will need a car. On arrangement, you can have your main meals prepared.
This is a fascinating area with plenty to see. Within 15 minutes you can be at the sea (Montalto Marina), in Tuscania, Tarquinia and at the Vulci archaeological site. Thirty minutes gets you to Lake Bolsena, l’Argentario, the town of Capalbio, the parco dell'Uccellina, the boarding point for the ferries from Civitavecchia, and various thermal spas (such as terme dei Papi, Saturnia, Ficoncella). And if you want to spend a day in Rome, then you’ll find it’s just 80 minutes away by train. The station at Montalto di Castro is just 8km from the house, with a day ticket just €10.50.
