Italy home rentals - Italian Marches - Spend your Italian vacation in the Marche region, with the apartments at this holiday farm providing superb views down to the Adriatic.
The nearby town of Ascoli Piceno offers many interesting places to visit. The Felici Palace dates back to the first decade of the 17th Century, and there is the Alamanno Museum. It has San Emidio Cathedral, with the famous polyptych of Carlo Crivelli; the Ventidio Basso Theatre; the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Arringo.
The important, traditional events are the Giostra della Quintana in Ascoli Piceno, the Palio dell'Assunta in Fermo, the Contesa del Secchio in Sant'Elpidio A Mare, the Palio del Duca (Sponsalia) in Acquaviva Picena, La festa del Doge in Porto San Giorgio, The Cavallo di fuoco in Ripatransone, and the Festa del Bove finto in Offida. And while here you should visit the many mediaeval villages, often preserved intact down the centuries.

There is Fermo, the ancient Firmum Picenum and old seat of the archbishops, endowed by Pope Sisto V. And there is Acquaviva Picena, with its cliffs, its superb examples of Marche regional architecture. There are the marvellous villages of Montalto Marche, Offida, Moresco, Santa Vittoria, Sant'Elpidio A Mare, Servigliano and Montegiorgio, with its old churches and Alaleona theatre. And for those who like horse races, Montegiorgio has the San Paolo Hippodrome.
