These delightful vacation rental apartments lie in a 17th century town house in the Italian Marches - Le Marche - and are perfectly placed for a peaceful vacation in the mountains or on the beaches of the Adriatic.
Relax and recharge your batteries in this historic house, offering 4 vacation aparments. La Rosa Scarlatta sits on a quiet piazza in a small mediaeval town in the Marche hills. It's located atop one of the local hills that slope down towards the sea. Located at 465 metres above sea level, there are glorious views from the Sibillini mountains and on to the sea; the gentle cultivation of the nearby hills lends a soft and ever-changing aspect to this mysterious backdrop.
The property is typical of the area, and to the front overlooks a peaceful small square, to the rear a classic terraced garden and the fortified walls of this ancient village. Over the last four years the owners have restructured parts of the building (with great attention to historic detail) and created four totally independent units. Casa dei Gelsi, (more a little house), apartment La Piccola Torre (situated in the antique tower of the palazzo) and La Scuderia look onto the terraced garden and the beautiful hills in the distance. Apartment Il Vecchio Magazzino is towards the picturesque little street at the front of the building. All the apartments have use of the garden.
Central heating, linen and towels are included in the prices, as is final cleaning. Each of the apartments has a kitchen with a four-ring stove, freezer, fridge and oven. Arrival is on Saturdays after 3pm, and departure by 10am Saturday.
Casa dei Gelsi - the house of the mulberry trees - is characterised by a large terrace which can be reached from the kitchen. The terrace is the focal point of this small but lovely appartment - you can sunbathe, relax in a hammock, have breakfast or barbecue while the sun sets slowly behind the hills. The upper storey has a double bedroom and a bathroom, and maximum occupancy is two people.
For short stays the price is €30 per person.

Il Vecchio Magazzeno - the old storehouse - has an interesting open layout, with a great attention paid to historic details. The tiled and wooden floors, the stairs, the iron structures, the ceiling with antique wooden beams, the gallery, the banisters and the attic turn this apartment into a special and very welcoming place maintaining its atmosphere of ancient times. Its small windows lead onto the picturesque alley and the antique terraced garden which may be accessed via the lower floor of the palazzo tower. On the ground floor there is a living room with a stove in the centre, a kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom. Upstairs on the gallery there is another sofa bed and one more bedroom. Maximum occupancy is five persons.
La Piccola Torre - the small tower - is situated in and adjacent to the medieval tower of the Palazzo. There is a splendid staircase of iron and wood leading from the ground floor of the tower (from where you access the garden) to the rooms upstairs - the bathroom inside the tower with an adjacent livingroom/kitchen and a double bedroom. There are great views from here of the terraced garden and of the hills that slope gently down to the sea. An additional sofa bed in the kitchen allows a maximum occupancy of three people.

La Scuderia - the stable - is an apartment situated in the basement of the antique palazzo which leads to the garden. Its main characteristic is the ceiling with royal arches. A large French window leads from the livingroom/kitchen into the terraced garden via a wooden balcony. There is another room with a small window and a breathtaking view. Maximum occupancy is three persons.
Il Cielo - the sky - situated on the top floor of the building, offers a large double bedroom with bathroom and can connect la piccola torre and il vecchio magazzino, either or both of which can be combind with the rental of this apartment.
Outside lies the garden with a barbecue and beach chairs; guests are welcome to keep their dogs here. There is a garage for motorbikes or bicycles, and parking in front of the house. Wi-fi internet connection is available for guests. And if you book your accommodation for any of the apartments within two weeks of your arrival date, you will get up to 20 per cent off the rental price.
