Situated in the centre of the little town of Deiva Marina between La Spezia and Genoa on the Ligurian coast, and only twenty metres from the Mediterranean sea, the hotel La Marina is housed in a building built in 1921 which has always belonged to the Dodi family.

The recent renovation has not altered the friendly atmosphere of this Italian seaside hotel, and the owners take pleasure in having direct contact with the guests. Signora Anna has been taking care of the hotel kitchen for more than thirty years, offering typical Ligurian and Italian cuisine with the expert use of local products. The particularly convenient position of the hotel, only 300 metres from the railway station and a few steps from the beach, makes it the ideal destination for a relaxing holiday. Cinque Terre and Portofino are easy to reach by train and, during summer season, by boat, as there is a small pier only 200 metres from the hotel.

The 17 recently renovated rooms have private bathrooms, Tv with Sky Gold, direct-dial telephone, safe and air conditioning. Other hotel facilities include a lift, restaurant, bar, solarium, covered guarded garage, internet point and Wi-Fi internet access available in bedrooms.

The restaurant offers a wide choice of traditional dishes using local seasonal produce. First courses are prepared with hand-made pasta, coupled with the famous pesto, a delightful walnut sauce and various seafood specialties.
The restaurant is open every day from June to October. Mirella and all the staff want you to enjoy a wonderful meal!

Thanks to the vicinity of the beach this hotel on the Ligurian coast is the ideal base for water sport lovers. There is space for you to store kit (wet suits, fishing rods, bait, sun umbrellas etc) and inside the 400 sqm garage cycling and motorcycling guests will find an equipped area for small maintenance jobs. Sea lovers have at their disposal the free sandy beach only a few steps from the hotel, and can also rent beach umbrellas and deckchairs on a private beach for a very reasonable charge.

Situated between the provinces of Genoa and La Spezia (Deiva Marina is in the province of La Spezia), the town shows characteristics of both areas: the wild territory with rocky cliffs over the sea, similar to the Cinque Terre, and a nice sandy beach like those in the Tigullio area.

The town is divided into two parts: the old town, with its narrow roads or 'carruggi', the 18th century Church of Sant’Antonio Abate, and the old watchtower defending the town from pirate raids, and then the tourist area 'La Marina', with its seafront, shops, restaurants and the beach.

Thanks to the railway station and the A12 motorway exit, Deiva Marina is also an excellent starting point to explore the surrounding area. The beautiful five mile long coastline of the Cinque Terre is only a few minutes away by train, and here you can enjoy walking trails along the cliffs in one of Italy's best known National Parks or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere of these jewel-like villages which until fairly recently were accessible only by train or boat.
By car you can quickly reach the Val Fontanabuona, with its old slate mines, the Lunigiana and the Valley of Magra, with the Natural park of Montemarcello, its castles and the remains of the old Roman city of Luni.
