Blevio is a little town some 3km north of Como, an important staging post between Italy and Switzerland, and with the Swiss border just 8km away. Its excellent strategic position, between Milan, Lugano, Varese and Lecco, opens a multitude of opportunities to holidaymakers here. You can go waterskiing, or skiing upon the snow of the mountains; you can enjoy the typical local foods of Lombardy, or opt for Swiss specialities; you can lose yourself in the beautiful National Parks nearby, or visit world-famous botanic gardens. There are also beautiful old villas and mansions to explore, or you might take a shipboard tour upon Lake Como.
Of all the stretches of water in the Italian Lake District, Como is the most fascinating and varied. Lovely little lakeside hamlets sit alongside tiny ports. Chi-chi villas sit in exotic shaded gardens. Travel north along the shore to Bellagio, occupying its magnificent position on the promontory that divides Lakes Como and Lecco. A friendly town, with some good shops and restaurants, this is a lovely place to stop. Across the water lies Tremezzo with its terraced public gardens, and nearby is Cadenabbia, a charming resort with the Chapel of St Martin sitting out on the headland.
There is Cernobbio, with its impressive sixteenth century Villa d'Este, once the home of the Cardinal of Como, and now with marvellous terraced gardens. Menaggio is one of the lake's most upmarket resorts, fanned by cooling breezes and always worth a visit. And don't miss the delightful little town of Varenna, standing amidst cypresses and immaculately laid-out gardens upon its promontory onto the lake.

Then return to your lovely house on the southern shores of the lake. You'll
enjoy a substantial Continental breakfast each morning or, should you wish,
an English breakfast. For lunch or dinner you may have this choice, "Antonio&Rosa" a
little family restaurant in front of the house. They are open in the night
for clients and for dinner you have to reserve before five
o'clock pm. You can reserve the rooms for long
periods, but are reminded that smokers and animals are not allowed. The owners
live in the house.
The two comfortable bedrooms have marvellous views and the bathroom is shared. Long stay reservations are available. Bed and breakfast per person per night is €26 and €170 per week. Children of five and under stay free, and additional beds can be supplied at €8 per night. Laundry service is €3, and internet connection €0.10 per minute. Check in until 10.00 pm (arrival day only). For parking there's a little one nearby the house (no private). There are stairs and no elevator, no handicaps facilities.
