It is a perfect spot for a couple to enjoy either the tranquillity of sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine and a good book or alternatively to use as a base for exploring the area.

Cornice is above the coast at the beginnings of the Ligurian Riviera, not much more than twenty minutes drive away up in the hills. It is a lovely old village and is a 'Centro Storico' with lots of old borgos and an interesting and very old church. It also boasts one of the best restaurants of the area. Not far from Brugnato (about 3kms), with its famous cathederal with the two naves, it is located in the Vara valley.

If you do not want to spend your days at the beach at Levanto or some other Ligurian resort, then there is plenty to do in this valley from exploring the mountain passes to the north (Passo di Cento Croce and Passo del Bocco) to marvelling at the frescoes in the local church in Varese Ligure or looking at its restored Fieschi castle, canoeing or rafting at the appropriate times of year or just simply savouring the excellent white wines of the area. Alternatively, if you want to explore further afield, the motorway access is a mere fifteen minutes drive.
