Fosdinovo is located on the first of the hills off the coastal plain of the Versilian Riviera. It is, therefore, approximately 30 minutes drive from these sandy beaches with their shallow foreshore. Just at the beginning of the Carrara mountains, the scenery is spectacular. Fosdinovo itself, in addition to its Malaspina castle (which means that not only is there a lovely mediaeval building but also an old village surrounding it), has bars, food shops and a restaurant. Further facilities are to hand in a matter of minutes by car, at the bottom of the mountain.

The property is literally a little way beneath the castle walls, hence its name 'Sotto Castello' and has the most wonderful views. Clear days mean that not only can you see the sea but that you can pick out details for miles. From this point of view its location could not be bettered. Once you have walked along the little lane to access the property (cars must be left at the top near the castle) because this property is a ground floor apartment everything is on one level.

Open plan Sitting Room/Dining Room with table and chairs, sideboard and a fireplace in front of which are a sofa and chairs; separate but open plan kitchen area with a gas cooker, fridge/freezer and plenty of cupboard space and work surfaces; bedroom 1 has a double bed and wardrobe space; bedroom 2 has two single beds, a wardrobe and an additional single 'Z' bed style bed which can be used if an additional person needs accommodation; bathroom with a small bath with shower attachment, basin, bidet and toilet; off bedroom 2 there is access to a small private terrace with table and chairs. Outside to the front of the property there is a garden area where it is also possible to sit out but with less privacy than on the terrace. By this garden area a path leads down the mountain into the countryside. The property, which is beautifully appointed and in a superb location, is ideal for a family or for two couples sharing - whilst for a couple on their own it would be extremely spacious. As our property has Central Heating it may be rented all year round.
