This pleasant little family-run hotel in Piedmont is attractively situated close to the shores of Lake Orta, Lake Maggiore's smaller sister lake. The area is unspoilt and very rural with lovely mountain scenery interspersed with handsome villas with beautifully tended gardens. There are just ten rooms here, all with satellite television and central heating. Double rooms have a private balcony with stunning views and a tasty English-style breakfast is included in the room rate. The Hotel Madonna Delle Neve, Pettenasco has a small restaurant featuring delicious Italian home cooking with a few local specialities thrown in; there is also a welcoming lounge/bar and dinner is served al fresco in the pretty gardens during the summer months.
