A bed and breakfast close to Turin in the Piedmont wine region of Italy - B&B del Monferrato is located near Turin, on the hills of Piedmont, in a famous wine region where some very special wines are produced - both big names and niche vintages. To name a few among many - Barbera, Nebbiolo, Barolo, Freisa, Moscato and Asti.
From here you’re within around half an hour of some superb cities. There is Turin with its royal architecture heritage, Asti with its baroque churches and the medieval Palio horse race in September, Casale Monferrato with its castle and palaces dating from the 15th century. In this area you can visit the royal castles, Roman abbeys, national parks and wine cellars. If you dream of escaping to the beach, you will reach the coast at Genoa with its wonderful Aquarium in only 90 minutes. The lake district is only 80 miles northeast, and the Olympic Mountains are to the west.
After a busy day visiting cities or country you can simply relax. There are two options: two double rooms with en-suite bathroom, suitable also for families, where it’s possible to accommodate 2-4 guests. Each room is provided with TV, fridge, fan, kettle with complimentary teas and coffee, hairdryer, bath foam and shampoo. Alternatively you can stay in an apartment in an house nearby, with two double rooms, a hall with two single beds, a spacious fully furnished kitchen, a dining room and a bathroom, where it’s possible to accommodate 2-7 guests. A private garden surrounds the house.

In both you’ll enjoy a generous breakfast of local organic produce including cheeses, butter and fruits, homemade cakes, juices, cereals, coffee, milk, teas and yoghurts. In the summer, breakfast is served in the garden or on the terrace, where you will start your day looking at the beautiful hills.

For dinner you can reserve a table in the restaurant, La Locanda del Biru, where you’ll be served traditional recipes of the region, reviewed with a bit of innovation, accompanied by local wines made by small producers – some real finds here. Your hosts will also be glad to suggest other restaurants where you can stop along your way. The garden is available to guests, and the safe playing area for children will certainly be appreciated.

In the summer evenings you will relax on the swing with a glass of wine and in the wintertime you will be delighted by the warm fireplace in the sitting room. The double room price (two persons) is EURO €45 per night, each additional person in the same room will pay €10 per night. The price per person in the apartment is €25 per night. Breakfast and all amenities are included in all the prices. There is a discount for children (one child under six stays for free) and for longer stays.
