Villa Pianali has three vacation apartments for rent in the rich greenery of the Val di Chiana, not far from Arezzo, Siena and Chianti. The setting is peaceful and private, surrounded by olive groves and woodland, and ideal for a relaxing vacation walking or catching up on your reading (the house has an excellent collection of local histories and guide books). The Val di Chiana is excellent birdwatching country, and you might even catch sight of a wild boar or two!
The surrounding countryside is wonderfully fertile — Hannibal and his elephants took a break here and stocked up before crossing the Alps — and there are plenty of excellent restaurants specialising in local produce. Arezzo and Siena are convenient for diverting day trips, and wine buffs will enjoy the proximity of Chianti, Montepulciano and Montalcino...
