THE ESTATE

Villa Cafaggiolo is an old stone-built farmhouse atop a hill in a panoramic position, surrounded by open farm-land, cultivated with olive groves and vineyards. It is situated in a charming location amid the Chianti hills, only 7.5 miles east of Florence (15 minutes by car).
The villa is a large (4310 square feet), free-standing country dwelling, constructed in the late 1700s and fully restored in 2004. It is divided into 4 separate completely independent luxury villas, each having its own private entrance and private, fenced garden.

Villa Cafaggiolo own 2.5 acres of land, which is completely fenced, terraced and planted with a variety of trees, hedges, flowers and roses.

In the main garden there is a swimming pool (33x13.5 feet) with a spacious deck, surrounded by flower beds.

The owners live in a separate villa in the grounds of Villa Cafaggiolo and are on hand to meet you and give you as much or as little assistance as you need to enjoy your holiday and the local area. They are great horse lovers and have a private stable.
Guests always appreciate the warm, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

LOCATION & SURROUNDINGS

The location is ideal for those wishing to visit Florence and all its glories, while at the same time experiencing the quiet and tranquillity of a rural setting, away from the noise and bustle of the city. Villa Cafaggiolo is immersed in absolute silence with a private road leading to the house; no traffic will disturb your vacation.

Pontassieve is only 1.5 miles from the Villa; it is an attractive medieval town where you will find a good choice of shops, banks, several very good restaurants and a shopping centre. There is a regular train service into the centre of Florence, which takes about 20 minutes, and is excellent for those who do not wish to take the car into the city.

In the countryside around Villa Cafaggiolo there are many historic places to visit – the Vallombrosa Abbey and the forests around, the 11th century Benedictine monastery at Rosano, and the Etruscan settlement of Fiesole with its unforgettable views of Florence.

The Villa is a short distance from the most famous towns of Tuscany: 30-70 km. from Siena, Greve in Chianti, San Gimignano, Montalcino, Volterra, Vinci, Lucca, Pisa, Arezzo and the beaches at Viareggio. [Local map ] [Regional map]

Fashion-conscious bargain hunters will find the outlets of Gucci, Ferragamo, Armani, Valentino, Prada, Ysl, Dolce & Gabbana, and Fendi nearby (just 12 kilometres distant, in the town of Rignano sull’Arno).

A lot of people, however, come to Villa Cafaggiolo not to do, but simply to be; to enjoy the tranquil location, beautiful grounds and excellent Tuscan food. This is life as it should be, calm and unhurried; time to talk and listen to friends and family and regain lost vitality.
