The villa is actually the country home of the owners, and they have decided to let out to guests an apartment in one wing of the building. Your privacy is guaranteed (the large garden is yours to enjoy), and the nearby presence of the owners offers some peace of mind and security. |

On the ground floor is found a comfortable
living room, the kitchen and a small bathroom. The kitchen has a french
window that gives easy access to the garden and a small terrace; the terrace
has chairs and a table for splendid outdoor dining. On the first floor are two double bedrooms, both enjoying wonderful views over the Tuscan countryside, and a bathroom with shower. The kitchen has an electric hob, fridge, a small external electric oven, dishwasher, kettle and American coffee-maker. There is also a small gymnasium that is available for use by guests. |

If the rugs, furnishings and furniture are
the result of diligent and loving searches of local antique fairs, it
is the garden that is the true jewel of Villa Il Prato, covering more
than 400 square metres, with a terrace bedecked with umbrellas and sun
lounger and the fine, open views of the area. Whilst it is true that the villa is located in open countryside, guests are far from isolated. The nearest small village, Villanuova, is only one kilometre away and has a tennis court and small grocery store, and the nearest restaurant is only one and a half kilometres away. For other requirements, the small town of Montelupo Fiorentino is only four kilometres away and boasts a Post Office, bank, pharmacy, launderette, dry-cleaners and supermarket. Should you wish to visit Florence but could well do without the attendant parking nightmares, then the train station at Empoli is only six kilometres away and usually has two or three trains per hour into Florence. Apropo of this, a car really is essential for those renting Villa Il Prato. Empoli also has a public swimming pool.
