The village of Casabasciana is 500 metres above sea level, on a mountainside with wonderful views. It is one of 23 villages which make up the rural district council of Bagni di Lucca. Nine kilometres from the main Bagni di Lucca town, it is approached by good paved roads. There are about 200 inhabitants, a small bar, two general food shops, one of which is also a butcher.

The house is in the middle of the village and is of traditional Tuscan stone, mainly 17th century with 18th century additions and is unusually spacious with large rooms. It is suitable and furnished for no more than 8 people. The floors are terracotta brick, the ceilings beamed. Stairs, fireplaces and many lintels are stone. Hot water is supplied from the central heating plant. There are two wood stoves and two large fireplaces. It has an enclosed courtyard and is about 50 metres from the parking piazza. A car is essential.
