Agriturismo Pra di Reto - vacation apartments & bed and breakfast in the Garfagnana

Gragnanella, a mediaeval hamlet not far from the main town of Castelnuovo Garfagnana, is a typical rustic village, surrounded by chestnut woods and cultivated land. Pra di Reto lies in a small piazza in the centre of the village, a perfectly maintained sixteenth century house which has two apartments and a room available as vacation accommodation.

The owners are local farmers who take great pride in showing off local produce and delicacies including farro, chestnut pancakes, porcini mushrooms, potato bread, fruit tarts and biscuits.

This is a wonderful spot for nature-lovers - visitors can explore the area on foot and on horseback, or hire mountain bikes or even canoes. Alessandra and Olinto are happy to suggest routes and excursions (Olinto is an experienced guide to the area and will even accompany excursions by arrangement). Visitors can spend happy weeks in this natural paradise, following paths through the woods and enjoying the splendid wildlife and flora, much of which is unique to this isolated spot.

A splendid railway service helps visitors to reach the more out of the way spots, or to take a break from nature and head into the cities of art or the beach.
