The flat is right in the heart of Lucca's world-famous walls - an area of mediaeval churches and renaissance palaces, artisanal boutiques and delicatessens, bars and some outstanding restaurants (The nearby Antica Locanda dell'Angelo is very highly regarded).

There are regular markets, some specialising in local produce, antiques or handicrafts, and an active social calendar with several notable festivals, exhibitions and events. Lucca is an entrancing city of narrow winding streets, and it is surprisingly easy to spend a week or more discovering its many attractions. Please note however that short stay bookings are also accepted.
Those who want to see more of Tuscany are well placed as well. There are excellent rail and motorway links with numerous possible day-trip destinations: Florence and Chianti, Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano, the natural parks of the Garfagnana and Alps, the sandy beaches of the Versilian Riviera...
