The house has been lovingly restored using traditional Tuscan methods and materials — it has exposed beams, terracotta and chestnut wood floors, antique rustic furnishings and a large open fireplace. The fenced garden leads to a paved terrace with a vine-shaded pergola — ideal for al fresco meals while you enjoy the magical sunsets. Here too is a working pizza oven and a barbecue.

The comfortable living-room and open-plan kitchen take up the ground floor — a bright, spacious area which is well placed to catch the sun. The kitchen is fully equipped, and has a gas oven and an original stone sink fed by a nearby mountain spring. There is a dining table and a double sofabed which brings the accommodation to six.

The upper floor consists of two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and washing machine. The first bedroom has double doors leading to the outside and an antique double bed. The second bedroom is reached through the first, and also has an antique double bed.

A change of bed and bath linen is included in the price, as is a 'welcome pack' of basic groceries, firewood and a cylinder of cooking gas (extra gas can be purchased locally). By prior arrangement you can have a typical Tuscan meal cooked for you at the house by a local cook. There is a public telephone at the neighbouring house. Top of the range mountain bikes can can be rented with prior notice and delivered to the house.
