Set in splendid isolation at the top of a hill, Casa Nuova is a beautiful twenty minute drive Northwest of Lucca. Ideal for a great family holiday, the house sleeps 9 and the barn 4. The swimming pool, at 6 x 13 metres, has enough space for everyone.

Look down towards Gugliano, then across the countryside to the foothills of the Garfagnana and the mountains beyond. A delightful and private setting, Gugliano is an unspoilt village, really a small farming community set at the top of a hill.

Casa Nuova has been lovingly restored, with care taken to preserve and enhance the original ambience and features. Dating from the turn of the century, it stands three storeys high against a backdrop of vineyards belonging to the property.

Adjoining the house is a beautifully restored two bedroomed barn. The swimming pool, situated on a private terrace above and behind the house, measures 6 metres by 13 metres and is large enough for the more energetic to have a good swim.

Inside the house, there are four double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a shower room, a kitchen/dining room and a living room.
The decorations and furnishings are tastefully chosen and typical of the area, as are the floors of terracotta tiles. The ceilings are high and built using chestnut beams and terracotta tiles which are left exposed.

The barn has two double bedrooms, shower room, kitchen and lounge/dining room. Well equipped, it has a more modern feel than the house.

The living room is comfortably furnished with a sofa bed, sofa and other comfy chairs. There is a large fireplace and French doors lead to a terrace with an original outside bread oven.

The garden surrounds the terrace, with the swimming pool above and behind. The kitchen/dining room is large and well equipped, having hot & cold water, gas and electric cooking facilities, a dishwasher, washing machine (in the hall) and large fridge. There is ample kitchenware and crockery for self catering.
