This lovely country villa takes its name from Lorenzo di Medici, Florentine statesman and one of the pillars of the Italian Renaissance. The 'Magnifico' is no understatement — this is a charming holiday house in a breathtaking position atop one of Lucca's prettiest hills. There is a marvellous panoramic view, and you can even catch a distant glimpse of the sea!
The house is set in a vibrant, green landscape of olive trees and woodland and is surrounded by a beautifully maintained garden. This is a place where you can really get away from all the stresses of city life, getting a tan by the swimming pool or stretching out on the lawn and listening to the birds singing in the forest.

The area of Tuscany around Lucca is a wonderful surprise to visitors more used to the tourist traps of Chianti — here the locals seem to take tourism in their stride, happy to help you enjoy your visit without diluting the experience of real Italian life.
Chief among local attractions is Lucca itself, a friendly little city of winding mediaeval streets lined with palaces, churches, shops and homes. You can cycle or walk all the way round its imposing Renaissance walls, browse your way through the frequent craft and antique markets, catch a concert, or dine like a prince at one of the many outstanding restaurants.
The white, sandy beaches of the Versilian Riviera, the miracles of Pisa, the wild forests of the Garfagnana are all easy day- (or even half-day) trips and even Florence, Chianti and Siena are within reasonable driving distance. Lucca has excellent motorway connections, but if you don't want to drive there are regular, fast train and bus links too.
