Below the castle of Vivo d'Orcia, which
has been in the hands of the family of Count Cervini since 1534, stands
the former caretaker's house. It has recently been restored and can now
be rented by the week or the month from April to November. The photograph
at the top left shows the front of the house - to the right and up the
hill lies the castle. The house sleeps 8 comfortably in 4 spacious bedrooms. It has 2 bathrooms, a living room, a dining room and a kitchen. The pool, which is shared with another house, is right next to the house, but fenced off for the safety of small children. |

The living quarters are on the first
floor. The house has been decorated in excellent taste by the owners,
using many antiques belonging to the family. The rooms are painted in
sunny mediterranean colours, and the living room is large and light -
the windows overlook the garden to one side and the pool to the other
side. In the evening you might want to light a fire. |

The living quarters extend over 165 square
metres. The dining room with fireplace is the central room from which
one reaches the kitchen, the bedrooms and one of the bathrooms. A second
bathroom is located next to the living room (above the stairs). The house
has a garage, a telephone, a dishwasher, washing machine and central heating. The house is surrounded by a lawn which is bordered by trees. One tree offers enough shade for "al fresco" meals even on the hottest summer day. On the right side of the house, up a couple of steps, lies the pool, which is bordered by English roses and hydrangeas. Deck chairs are provided. The pool is shared with another nearby house (Casa di Pietro - sleeps 4 - view here), and is open from the beginning of June until the end of September.
