'The Artists' house' is to be found in the mediaeval mountain village of Piazza di Brancoli, about 700 metres above Lucca. The house overlooks the Serchio river valley and the city of Lucca - the views are spectacular. In the distance can be seen the mountains that separate Pisa from Lucca and on a clear day, the sea. Here in the foothills of the Apennines Brancoli offers a tranquil atmosphere among the olive trees and vineyards; there are great opportunities for hiking on old mountain roads leading to other villages, scenic overlooks and even a mountain stream with a waterfall and natural pools. |
