Between Arzachena and San Pantaleo, and 2km from the beaches, lies Ca' La Somara, once a big sheep farm and now transformed into a charming, beautiful holiday farmhouse. The owners live here with seven Sardinian donkeys who have become pets ... for themselves and for the guests!

They have created a real oasis here, where you can relax and practise exercises to re-establish the inner balance between body and mind - this is a perfect spot for peaceful meditation practice. Excursions are organised to a nearby nuraghi site where a centre of positive magnetic force has been discovered. The nuraghi are prehistoric towers peculiar to Sardinia. Conical monuments with truncated summits, they stand up to 60ft in height and are constructed of rough blocks of stone. Striking to see, they stand proud on the slopes of the mountains, and usually occur in groups.
While staying at Ca' La Somara you will be offered bed and breakfast, and can choose to dine in the vegetarian restaurant (vegetables come from the organic farms of the area) or cook for yourself on the barbecue. The house is small and can host 11 people only, so reservations for the summer period should be made well in advance. The house is well set up for guests with disabilities, and there is a reading room and use of the kitchen.
Close to the farm are the beautiful beaches of Costa Smeralda, which are marvellous for both fishing and sailing. Horse riding, nature itineraries, trekking and hiking, archaeological site excursions, cycle tours, and bird watching can all be arranged by your hosts once you are here.
