There are excursions available on the sailing boat Sandra II, a vessel of mahogany and teak, in and around the beautiful bays of the archipelago. From the ample sun deck you can drink in the spectacular scenery of the Maddalena Archipelago National Park. During moorings at various beaches, authorized and qualified guides from Fox Divers lead you on snorkelling expeditions. The islands of Maddalena, Caprera, Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli and Santamaria await your visit. Boat and rubber dinghy hire are also possible. Using the hosts’ trusted agency, Aventure Viaggi and Gallura Explorer, trips can be made to the archaeological sites, local markets, into the Barbagia, to Corsica and to the Park of the Asinara. Only 1km from Residenza Capriccioli lies the prestigious Pevero Golf club (18 holes, par 72, 6175m). Designed by Robert Trent Jones, and overlooking the exquisite bay of Cala di Volpe, this golf course is deservedly considered one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. It is well-known as the haunt of the international jet-set.
During the last five years, Residenza Capriccioli has been extensively renovated, to conform with the highest environmental standards. Particular attention has been paid to energy conservation: for example, hot water is provided with solar energy, air conditioning uses the latest technology to keep electrical consumption to a minimum. The residence is immersed in well-established grounds of Mediterranean macchia, using only native species, thus respecting the local habitat. Particular attention is paid to environmental awareness and education; the Centro Bue Marino is dedicated to the residence's younger guests, to inspire respect for nature and the sea, and your hosts often organize exhibitions and activities in collaboration with the Centro Parchi of Rome
The residence has its own lifeguard and the Cala di Volpe yacht club is situated only 1km from the Residence. At Cala di Volpe bay, boats of up to 7m can be moored off the floating jetty. Sailing courses are offered here, using Darts and Lasers.
Sardinia is well-served by airlines from mainland Italy. The nearest airport to Capriccioli is Olbia, and the most frequent services arrive from Rome or Milan. The ports of Genoa, Livorno and Civitavecchia offer daily ferry crossings to Olbia. Capriccioli is an easy 35km drive north of Olbia. Follow signs for Costa Smeralda - Porto Cervo - Cala di Volpe and then Capriccioli. Car hire is highly recommended due to the lack of public transport in the area. Alternatively, transfers to the residence can be organised. For further information regarding transfers, or for travel information and ferry or plane tickets, please contact us.
