This charming residence is based around a mediaeval building. It also incorporates a 19th century palace whose doors open on to the twelfth century church of San Francesco d'Assisi, set in a little square. Its cloistered position shelters guests from traffic and noise from the street.

Set over a number of levels joined by lovely wrought iron stairways, the building has been restored by the owners with careful attention to its architectural heritage. The suites have private entrances from a beautiful internal semicircular court.

All the suites have big, soundproofed windows and two bedrooms – each can encompass either a double bed or twin beds. Each suite has a living area and its own bathroom with shower and WC, and all are furnished in traditional Sicilian style, with pieces fashioned from wrought iron and wood.

A further bed can be added on request. The rooms have an internet point, satellite TV and minibar. Guests have private parking and accommodation is for a minimum two nights. Nightly rental in two-guest suites is EURO €110, for a three-guest suite €150, and for a four-person suite €180. Your breakfast, based on typical local specialities, can be taken in your apartment, in the spacious dining-room or on the terrace.

The location is great for people who want to be able to walk to the most important monuments, churches, museums, or eating places in the city ... or for those who just want to shop! And if you want to enjoy the open air, you’ll love the fact that the Orto Botanico, Foro Italico and Villa Giulia gardens lies nearby.

Head deeper into the Mediterranean’s largest island and you’ll find an enormous amount to enjoy. Sicily is an Italian island, but it’s also an exciting mixture of all the cultures that invaded and ruled here. Spaniards, Arabs, Romans, Normans, French and Bourbons have come and gone, leaving a jumble of churches, temples, theatres and a very eclectic cuisine. You’ll marvel at the Byzantine mosaics in Palermo’s Cappella Palatina. You’ll be thrilled by your climb up the blackened sides of the smoking Mount Etna. And you’ll enjoy performances in Siracusa’s Teatro Greco. Then view the Roman mosaics at Villa Romana del Casale, or be dazzled by the Baroque town of Noto – a short drive from the farmhouse.

The airport at Palermo Punta Raisi is 35km away. The rail station (Palermo Centrale) is 800 metres away. The port of Palermo is 1km away, with the bus stop 200 metres away. The beach at Mondello is 20 minutes by car or by bus. For detailed driving directions please contact your hosts.
