knowital.com, Italy - how to use the site

Q. How do I use the knowital website?

A. Let's start at the beginning. From our front page your first choice is a geographical one - which region of Italy are you interested in? Simply click on one of the choices on the left and you will be taken to a menu page for that region. From there you can have a good look around - you'll usually find links to accommodation, images, background, places to visit, etc, etc.

Clicking on an accommodation link will lead you through assorted sub-menus; are you interested in apartments, villa rentals, hotels - if hotels, then do you want to be in town or in the country? It may take you a few clicks to get to where you want to be, but the alternative would be some long and not very useful lists. You'll find a page summarising the various types of accommodation in Italy here.

(If you're in a hurry, clicking here will take you to a 'quick-link' menu covering all accommodation on the site, alternatively click here for our 'accommodation finder', allowing you to specify your own criteria.)

Once you've arrived at a category that interests you you'll see a summarised listing of all properties that fit the bill. Click on the links and you can find out more about each of them - there's usually a large(ish) photograph on the front page, followed by one or two additional pages of information and photographs. Each page will have back and forward buttons and you'll see a link back to the sub-menu and the homepage for the area you're looking at.

Every property on the site has a dedicated contact form. Because you will be dealing directly with the concerns (or their representatives) on our site - remember that we are not an agency - then you need to fill out separate forms for each property. However, we use a temporary cookie (deleted when you close your browser - privacy policy here) to remember your details, so all you'll need to do is click the 'send' button for each property that interests you. Do be sure to carefully type your email address - if you don't supply a working one then you'll likely hear nothing back - for this reason we also require that you specify which country you're in. It's a good idea to supply a telephone and/or fax number just in case, but this is not required.

Your message(s) will be forwarded to the properties/representatives concerned who will answer you directly ASAP. Well, that's the theory. What with the vines to tend, the olives to press and that last drop of coffee in the pot, then you may find yourselves waiting a day or two, but why not get into the Mediterranean mindset well in advance?

(Please note - all dates are in European format: Day - Month - Year, not Month - Day - Year. Also note that we rely on property owners/representatives to supply us with accurate pricing details - we can offer no guarantee that prices featured on knowital.com are accurate.)

Above all, we hope that you find this site useful. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let us know.
