Holiday in the Italian Alps - Trentino Holiday flats in a village complex outside Trento in northern Italy. Great facilities include a sauna and solarium, with the apartments within easy distance of great skiing and Lake Garda.
All the flats have large balconies, and some sleep up to 7 guests. Each flat has a living room with a double sofa-bed; a separate and fully equipped kitchenette; a bedroom with double or single bed and a bathroom with toilet. All the flats have a telephone with an outside line and a small cupboard (useful for skis in winter). The two-bedroomed flats have two double bedrooms. Two washing machines are available on the ground floor.

Relaxation is the keyword here: there is a lounge, a relaxation room with sauna, steam room and UVA solarium. Even the ancient Romans knew the beneficial effects of the Turkish bath both on the body and the mind. So, after a day skiing, walking, or whatever, relax in the delightful warmth of the Finnish sauna or in the sweet-smelling vapours of the Turkish bath ... and recharge your batteries for another day.
The complex is situated some 150m from the centre of the village and, as well as ample private parking, sits within a mature garden, has lifts to upper rooms, a living room with TV and videogames, and space for the children to play.
During summer, apartments sleeping 2 to 3 guests start at EURO €285 a week rising to €700 depending on the season. Those sleeping 3 to 4 range from €300 to €910. Apartments sleeping 5 to 6 range from €360 to €930, and those for 6 to 7 range from €450 to €1050.

You'll find this a fascinating area of Italy - a region of contrasts. Heading just a few miles north of here, Alto Adige is a mixture of the Italian and German, with much of the area only part of Italy since 1919. Prior to that, Alto Adige was called 'South Tyrol' and has the Tyrolean mountain flavour that the name suggests. The onion-domed roofs of Gothic style churches dot the landscape, and the pretty Alpine villages have restaurants serving sauerkraut and strudel as well as more typically Italian fare.

But back around Trento, the region is very much Italy, looking more to the Mediterranean than the Alps. It makes this an incredibly rich and diverse area. The dramatic peaks of the Dolomites provide great skiing and hiking. The Strada di Vino or 'wine road' through the Adige Valley provides a marvellous introduction to the wine and food of the area.
And the town of Trento itself, just south of your base at Andalo, is a gem. Sitting in the shadows of Monte Bodone, within a circle of mountain peaks, its setting is spectacular, with the town itself pleasantly pretty and relaxed.
