Tuscany villa with pool - vacation rental apartments in an 18th century villa and farmhouse with easy access to Florence, Siena, Arezzo and the vineyards of Chianti.
The house has been in the same family for 200 years and, though modified over the years, it has retained its original character. Sitting 250m above sea level, the villa is part of the ancient Castle of Cicogna.
The rental apartments are of varying sizes: each has a separate entrance and all of them are bright and welcoming. Guests of the villa have access to a lovely swimming pool (12m x 6m), to the neighbouring Botanic Gardens (a large English style garden), and to private parking.
In the nearby village of Cicogna (300m away) there is a snack bar, butchers and grocers. There is also an excellent restaurant just 500m from the villa, with special discounts for villa guests. Just 2.5km away, Terranuova has everything you will need: a pharmacy, travel agency, supermarket, bank, post office and restaurants. The railway station at Montevarchi is 6km away.
The Della Nave gardens were built in the second half of the 1800s. This English garden, free in appearance in contrast to the rigid and geometrical style typical of the Italian Renaissance and Baroque period, has fascinating planting. There are 120 species of trees, and plants from all over the world. Over the 32000 m² you'll find an astonishing diversity of planting, with one gigantic old Sequoia standing more than 35m high and with a circumference of more than 5.2m.
The recently restructured apartments maintain the typical Tuscan country spirit and style and are fully furnished. Each has colour TV, washing machine, fridge, heating, bathroom with shower, and a kitchen or cooking area. Some apartments have a chimney and all are furnished in rustic Tuscan style and in sympathy with the architectural surroundings. The comfortable cosy rooms have a very nice finish, with wooden furniture and wrought iron beds all made by local craftsmen. Each apartment has one or two bedrooms with a double bed. You can also have a sofa bed or infant's cot if required.
In Villa Della Nave there are 3 apartments. Apartment Ferdinando, sleeping 5+1, is EURO €620 per week in low season, €760 mid-season and €940 high season. This big, comfortable first floor apartment is in the old farm. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a double and the other with 3 single beds. There is a living room with two sofas, each seating 2, with one converting into a single bed. There is a well-equipped kitchen, and the flat has old brick-tiled floors. There are 2 bathrooms with showers. It is a bright flat, with a wonderful view onto the park.
Apartment Matilde, sleeping 5+1, is €600 per week in low season, €740 mid-season and €920 high season. On the first floor, there are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and single sofa bed, the other with 3 single beds. A big living-room has 2 sofas (each seating 2), an equipped kitchen corner and fireplace. There are two bathrooms, one with a tub and one with a shower. The flat has old brick-tiled floors and a marvellous vista onto the park.
Apartment Anny, sleeping 4+2, is €600 per week in low season, €740 mid-season and €920 high season. A big ground floor apartment, it's in the part of the villa where the laundry and ironing room used to be. Recently restored, the unit has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two twin beds plus a single sofa bed. There are two bathrooms with showers, a well-equipped kitchen, a large living-room with a fireplace and 2 sofas each seating 2, one of which converts into a single bed. The flat has antique furnishings.
