Cortona (38km), was known as Curtum in antiquity, and the Etruscan civilisation is still present in the architecture and the very ambience of the town. Cortona is well known as a capital for antiques, with many stores in the centre of town.
The town of Foiano della Chiana (8km), lies within double city walls of red brick. The central square, with its Governor’s Palace (Palazzo Pretorio) and the Palace of the Grand Duke (Palazzo Granducale), dates from the Renaissance. Foiano is famed for its Carnival.
San Gimignano (87km) is the renowned town of towers, dominating the Elsa Valley. Here you must see the Cathedral (Duomo), the Town Hall (Palazzo Comunale) and Church of St. Augustine (Chiesa di Sant’Agostino).
Montepulciano (28km) built along a narrow limestone ridge, is encircled by walls and fortifications designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Elder in 1511 for Pope Cosimo I. The town is chiefly known for the magnificence of its Renaissance palaces, for the elegance of its churches and for its Vino Nobile, one of the best-known Tuscan wines.



Pienza (33km) is a rare example of Renaissance town building. Its location in the middle of Val d’Orcia, a wonderful and untouched valley, marries the town perfectly with nature. Here you should see the Cathedral (Duomo), Piccolomini Palace (Palazzo Piccolomini) and the Pieve di Corsignano. And you must taste the local pecorino cheese.
Montalcino (47km) is a charming mediaeval town with characteristic narrow streets and alleys. Today it is famous for its wines among which the most renowned is Brunello di Montalcino.
From your holiday home in Tuscany it’s also easy to reach Lake Trasimeno (45km), Siena (46km), Arezzo (29km), Florence (95km) and Perugia (73km).
The weekly price includes water, gas, electricity, bed and table linen, final cleaning; telephone calls have to be paid according to use. Arrival day is Saturday (after 3pm); departures Saturday before 10am. Low season is EURO €900 a week, mid-season €1300 and high season €1500 per week.
