Bed and Breakfast in Tuscany, Italy - Under the walls of the old Tuscan town of Cortona, Il Sole del Sodo is a collection of bed and breakfast/short stay holiday rental apartments. It makes for a romantic holiday venue in the heart of Italy.
'Il Sole' (the sun) refers to the apartments' marvellous location, bathed in warm sun from sunrise to sunset. Surrounded by olive groves and suffused with the peaceful atmosphere of the valley in which they sit, these Tuscan holiday apartments lie within a 19th century house and its cleverly converted old stable.
Five double rooms sit within the house itself. These are decorated in a stylish blend of the traditional rustic Tuscan and the modern - with lighting provided by lamps created by Claudia, the owner of Il Sole del Sodo.
Each room has its own unique style. The Room of Veils is bathed in warm oranges, yellows and reds, with veils draping down from the baldachin bed. If you wish, there is an adjacent room with two further beds.

The Room of Doves has a romantic bed and marvellous fireplace, while the Room of the Past evokes the 1960s and 70s. Meanwhile, right up to date is The Zen Room - small, light and airy and with some lovely touches. Or choose The Tree Room, so called because during restoration a fresco of an olive tree was uncovered; this room also has a terrace.
Six cosy apartments sit within the old stable block. The Green Villino contains a double bed and double sofa bed. The apartment has its own, well-lit terrace. This is ideal for barbecues taken in the fresh air in front of the well-equipped kitchen.
The Yellow Villino has one double bed and a double sofa bed, while the Red Villino, with two single beds, is the smallest of the apartments, featuring a beautiful handmade fireplace.
The Blue Villino, with one double bed and a double sofa bed is the largest apartment, with a large main room and a kitchen with a wonderful fireplace. The Orange Villino has one double bed and a double sofa bed, and the White Villino has a double bed and further bed.
