If you’re looking for places to rent and flats in Florence, check out Apartment Angela. Sitting on the Via Santo Spirito, in the historic centre of Florence, this comfortable, elegant holiday apartment sleeps 2+3, and has one bedroom and two bathrooms.
This very nice Florence vacation apartment is in the oldest part of the city. The medieval buildings here once belonged to the powerful families who ruled Florence during the Middle Ages and beyond – the likes of the Frescobaldi, Medici, Lanfredini, Manetti and Caponi families.
But though centrally and handily located, this area is refreshingly free of crowds. The Via Santo Spirito is on the ‘other’ side of the River Arno, away from the main tourist haunts around the Duomo (cathedral). It lies near to the Piazza Santo Spirito, one of Florence’s most beautiful squares. And ‘the other side’ is relative of course: everything in Florence is contained within such a small area that you will have no problem strolling to the major sites and sights of the city.

This Florence vacation apartment has recently been beautifully restored, furnished and decorated. It lies on the fourth floor of the building. There are 60 stairs up ... no lift or elevator we’re afraid. This old building in the historic centre has a living room with pull-out sofa bed plus an extra fold-down bed sleeping three. There is a kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed and skylight and two bathrooms with showers, one on each floor.
The flat is bright and delightfully quiet. It has some very nice furniture (largely antiques), and has typical Florentine terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings. On arrival your hostess will welcome you with a complimentary bottle of Chianti and a basket of fresh fruit.
Your flat has heating and air conditioning, satellite television, hifi, fridge and freezer, electric toaster, electric oven, four-ring gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, plus an iron and ironing board, linens, blankets and towels. You’ll find an internet point nearby.

So once out of your Florence rental flat what should you stroll to see? Well the Pitti Palace, the Boboli Gardens, and Masaccio’s frescoes in the Carmine are all within easy reach. Then you should cross the Ponte Vecchio to the other side of the Arno, and explore the galleries at the Uffizi. Pay a visit to the Piazza della Signoria (we would estimate that all these locations lie within eight minutes walk).
Your immediate neighbourhood of Santo Spirito, meanwhile, is very lively. Here you will find plenty of coffee bars (and excellent coffee of course), some marvellous bars and restaurants for every taste and budget. There are also the necessities such as banks, grocers and other shops. You’ll even find a number of language schools nearby. And you’re very close to the famous Ponte San Trinita, leading to Via Tornabuoni, also close to the Via Maggio, with its many antique shops.
