The origins of Castellare di Tonda can be traced back to the Strozzis, a noble Florentine family who bought houses and land and turned them into the Piaggia estate. The houses are surrounded by silvery olive groves and sloping vineyards, oak woods and rolling hills.

The Scotti family has had the old farmhouses carefully restructured in line with Tuscan architectural traditions, restoring the buildings to their former splendour. The thousand of years of history and art in Tuscany - from Etruscan times to the Renaissance - can be fully appreciated only by coming to Tuscany and discovering them yourself.

Separate farmhouses on the huge estate are divided into two-, three- and four-room apartments, all practical and functional. In each apartment, the Tuscan Renaissance is combined with the comforts of modern life. The floors in terracotta, the wood-beamed ceilings and the furnishings create a warm and welcoming atmosphere within apartments provided with modern facilities.

Each apartment, even those on the first floor, has a place in the garden with a table, chairs, beach umbrella and two deckchairs. Each apartment has a living-room/kitchen. In addition, the Bilo apartments have one bedroom, the Trilo two bedrooms and the Quadri three bedrooms.

All kitchens have a four-ring hob, sink, shelving, storage and fridge. The living areas have a sofa bed folding out into two single beds. The bedrooms have joinable twin beds.
