A superb choice among Chianti vacation properties, Tuscany, Italy, Castello di Montegufoni is a wonderful castle dating back to the 12th century. With 45 lovely apartments, ranging in capacity from two guests up to ten, there really is something for everyone.

Restored in the 17th century by Acciaioli family, the castle has a magnificent tower modelled on that of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. Montegufoni Castle is part of a large estate of vineyards and olive trees. Montagnana, with its food shops is 1km away; Montespertoli with all kinds of shops 5km; Florence 20km and Pisa some 70km.

At your disposal is a large and very lovely terraced park, furnished with garden furniture and table tennis table, beautiful Italian gardens (dating back to the 18th century) with lemon trees and a swimming pool (12 x 6m, open 02/04 to 29/10). A second swimming pool (12 x 6m, open 02/04 to 29/10) is available outside the castle, by the outbuildings. There is a telephone available in the courtyard of the castle (phonecard only); reception is open from 8.30 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 18.30.

The outbuildings of the castle have also been restored and turned into charming apartments. A good restaurant (closed on Wednesdays) offering local recipes is open each night. You can hire baby beds (€52 per week), and an extra bed (€77 per week), both payable locally. Maid service is available by arrangement (€12 per hour, payment on the spot). The castle is run by the Posarelli family.
